CultureOwl vs. ThunderTix
ThunderTix is arts-native ticketing for venues that have outgrown entry-level tools — reserved seating, box office, memberships, no revenue share. CultureOwl covers the same ticketing ground and adds the part ThunderTix does not: an audience already browsing for something to do.

On Ticketing, We Are Close
ThunderTix does the ticketing job well. Reserved seating, holds, box office sales, no revenue share — a venue running it is not compromising, and a comparison that pretended otherwise would not survive a demo.
CultureOwl covers the same ground: seat maps, holds, box office, door check-in, discount codes. On a feature-by-feature ticketing comparison the two land in similar territory.
Which means ticketing is not the reason to choose between them.

The Difference Is Who Sees the Event
A ticketing platform sells to people who already found you. Whatever the seat map does, the audience is the one you brought.
CultureOwl is a place people go to decide what to do. Your event appears in the browsing, in the city pages, in editorial and in email to people who have never heard of your organization. The ticketing is the same job; the audience is not.
For a venue whose problem is filling the back rows rather than managing the front ones, that is the whole comparison.
Donations and support
Donations
CultureOwl collects donations at checkout and alongside ticket sales, and pays them out with your ticket revenue. It is deliberately simple. ThunderTix organizations that need campaign management, appeals, pledges or grant tracking should expect to keep a separate fundraising system — CultureOwl does not replace one.
Support
CultureOwl support covers setup, event publishing, ticketing and promotion, with no implementation project to complete first. Larger platforms often assign an account or implementation contact as part of a contract; ours is included and does not depend on the size of your organization.
What Each Platform Costs
CultureOwl publishes a flat 99¢ platform fee per paid ticket plus standard credit card processing. There is no monthly platform fee, no plan tiers and no per-seat charge for seating charts. Free events carry no ticketing fee.
ThunderTix charges both a monthly fee and a per-ticket fee: $1.00 plus $20 a month for general admission, $1.25 plus $25 for reserved seating, and $1.95 plus $195 for White Glove. Each includes an allowance — 20 tickets a month on general admission and reserved, 100 on White Glove. A separate K12 plan is $0.65 per ticket plus 3.5% including processing, with no monthly fee. Seating charts are $0.55 per seat with a $250 minimum. Source: thundertix.com/online-ticketing-software-pricing/, checked 8 September 2026.
Neither platform takes a percentage of ticket revenue on its standard plans, which is what separates both from Eventbrite. The difference is that ThunderTix carries a monthly cost whether or not you sell anything that month.
| Pricing consideration | CultureOwl | AudienceView |
|---|---|---|
| Fee per ticket | Flat 99¢ | $1.00 GA · $1.25 reserved · $1.95 White Glove |
| Monthly platform fee | None | $20 GA · $25 reserved · $195 White Glove |
| Percentage of ticket revenue | None | None on the paid monthly plans (3.5% on K12) |
| Seating chart setup | Included | $0.55 per seat, $250 minimum |
| Included tickets each month | Not applicable — no monthly fee | 20 on GA and reserved, 100 on White Glove |
