CultureOwl connecting a cultural organization to a network of people discovering its events

Reach People Before They Enter Your Database

AudienceView is strong at helping organizations understand and communicate with people whose information they already hold. Ticket purchases, donations, memberships and engagement activity can be connected within its customer-management and marketing tools.

CultureOwl begins earlier. People visit CultureOwl to find performances, exhibitions, festivals, museums, classes and other cultural experiences. Your organization can be discovered before someone has bought a ticket, made a donation, subscribed to an email list or entered your database.

AudienceView helps manage audience relationships once they exist. CultureOwl helps create the opportunity for those relationships to begin.

Build a Shared Local Audience for Culture

Cultural organizations are stronger when people can discover them together. Every museum, theater, dance company, festival, attraction and arts school gives local audiences another reason to visit CultureOwl. Each participating organization can then benefit from people arriving through other events, venues, genres and cultural interests.

This creates a discovery network rather than a collection of separate organizational databases.

AudienceView gives each organization a powerful system for managing its own customers and operations. CultureOwl builds the shared environment that helps more people find those organizations in the first place.

    Promotion That Comes With Distribution

AudienceView provides sophisticated tools for segmentation, automated email and SMS journeys, campaign attribution and customer engagement. These capabilities help internal teams plan and operate their own marketing programs.

CultureOwl adds the distribution. Depending on the membership or campaign, promotion can include placement throughout CultureOwl, CultureOwl email features, local and genre-specific things-to-do roundups, CultureOwl social media, collaborative posts, banner advertising, sponsored editorial, paid social campaigns, creative development, UGC and influencer collaborations, and geographic and interest-based targeting.

The CultureOwl team can help develop the creative, identify the audience, run the media and optimize the campaign. AudienceView helps you market through your database. CultureOwl helps place you in front of an audience outside it.

Make the Organization Part of Discovery

AudienceView provides branded ecommerce experiences through which organizations can present events, sell tickets and manage packages, donations and memberships.

CultureOwl organization and venue pages serve a different purpose. They exist within the broader local discovery experience, connecting the organization's information and upcoming events with relevant categories, venues, editorial content and cultural interests. Built-in follows give people a reason to remain connected after finding the organization for the first time.

The page is not only where someone arrives after deciding to buy. It is one of the ways someone discovers what your organization does.

Connect Discovery Data With Ticketing Results

AudienceView offers deep reporting across ticketing, attendance, fundraising, customer relationships and financial activity. Its Professional product includes prebuilt reports and configurable reporting tools for analyzing organizational data.

CultureOwl focuses on connecting what happens before the sale with the transaction that follows — impressions, engagement, click-throughs, email open rates, event likes, organization follows, ticket sales, orders and attendee records, ticket types, QR-code validation, revenue and financial exports.

This helps an organization understand whether it needs more visibility, stronger positioning or a better path from interest to purchase. AudienceView provides extensive operational intelligence. CultureOwl shows how cultural discovery and promotion turn into attendance.

    Professional Ticketing Without Enterprise Overhead

AudienceView is designed for organizations that need extensive configuration across ticketing, fundraising, marketing, payments, reporting and internal operations. Its Professional and Unlimited editions support a broad range of ticketing, package, seating and workflow requirements.

CultureOwl provides the ticketing tools cultural organizations need without making enterprise administration the center of the platform. The difference is not whether both systems can sell tickets — it is whether the system begins with internal administration or with helping more people discover the event.

An Annual Service Without Forced Long-Term Lock-In

AudienceView offers customized annual-subscription and per-ticket pricing. Under its published model, annual subscribers pre-purchase a ticket allotment, while per-ticket clients receive a custom volume-based rate with a minimum. Exact pricing and agreement terms are provided through the sales process.

CultureOwl is also a yearly service, but the structure is straightforward. Your membership includes an agreed set of platform benefits and promotional assets for the year. You receive the tools and visibility included in that membership, use the service for the term and decide whether continuing makes sense for your organization.

There is no required multiyear lock-in. You should stay because CultureOwl is delivering value, not because a complicated agreement makes it difficult to leave. One annual membership. Defined benefits. Your choice to renew.

    Donations and support

    Donations

CultureOwl provides built-in donation capability alongside ticket sales and as a standalone option. It is designed to make supporting an organization easy without adding unnecessary complexity to the purchase. AudienceView provides more extensive fundraising functionality, including donor management, campaigns, memberships, pledges, benefits, reporting and donation prompts during checkout. Organizations seeking a full development system may value that additional depth.

    Support

CultureOwl support covers platform use, ticketing, audience strategy, promotional opportunities, campaign planning, geographic targeting and marketing timelines. AudienceView includes unlimited client and technical support and advertises 24/7 emergency assistance as part of its pricing packages, designed around implementing and operating the AudienceView system. CultureOwl helps you use the platform and think through how to reach more people with it.

Keep Ticketing Costs Clear and Predictable

CultureOwl publishes a flat 99c platform fee per paid ticket plus standard credit card processing.

AudienceView does not publish one standard per-ticket price. Organizations request customized pricing and can choose between an annual subscription and a per-ticket structure. Its annual model includes a pre-purchased ticket allotment with an agreed overage rate, while its per-ticket option uses a custom volume-based fee and minimum.

You should not need an enterprise sales process to understand the basic cost of selling another ticket. CultureOwl keeps its platform fee visible, flat and easy to plan around.

    Frequently asked questions

    Can CultureOwl replace AudienceView?
For ticketing, yes; for patron management, no. CultureOwl provides online and box-office ticketing, reserved seating, timed entry, scanning and donations, plus a cultural discovery audience. AudienceView also provides patron CRM, fundraising and season subscription management, none of which CultureOwl includes — an organization that depends on those should keep a system that has them.
Who should not switch from AudienceView to CultureOwl?
An organization whose system of record is its donor database should not switch to CultureOwl. CultureOwl does not keep donor records, giving history or household relationships, and it does not run fundraising campaigns, appeals, pledges or grant tracking. Organizations that depend on those, or on season subscription packages with renewal cycles, are better served by a patron CRM.
Is CultureOwl only for arts and cultural organizations?
Yes — CultureOwl is built specifically for arts and cultural organizations, and its discovery audience is people looking for local culture. That focus is the reason a cultural event reaches a relevant audience there rather than competing with every other category of event on a general marketplace.
How much does CultureOwl cost per ticket?
CultureOwl charges a flat 99¢ platform fee per paid ticket, plus standard credit card processing. The fee does not change with ticket price or sales volume, so a $150 ticket carries the same 99¢ as a $15 one.
Are there monthly fees or setup costs to use CultureOwl ticketing?
No. CultureOwl charges no monthly platform fee, no plan tiers, no setup cost and no per-seat charge for seating charts. The 99¢ per paid ticket is the platform fee, and there is no annual contract behind it.
    What does AudienceView charge?
AudienceView does not publish a standard rate. Its pricing is quote-based, using customized annual-subscription and per-ticket models rather than one published figure, so the cost depends on the contract an organization negotiates. CultureOwl publishes a flat 99¢ per paid ticket with no annual contract.
Does CultureOwl charge a fee on free events?
No. CultureOwl charges no ticketing fee on free events — the 99¢ platform fee applies only to paid tickets. An organization can list and ticket a free event at no platform cost.
Can an organization use CultureOwl and AudienceView at the same time?
Yes. A CultureOwl event listing can point at external ticketing through its Ticket Link field, so an organization can publish events to CultureOwl's discovery audience while continuing to sell tickets on AudienceView. That makes it possible to add CultureOwl promotion without moving ticketing first.
Will an organization lose AudienceView's reach by moving ticketing to CultureOwl?
No. AudienceView powers an organization's own ticketing storefront rather than a consumer discovery marketplace, so there is no outside audience attached to it to lose. CultureOwl adds discovery on top of ticketing.
Who owns the ticket-buyer data in CultureOwl?
The organization owns its ticket-buyer data in CultureOwl. Orders and attendee lists can be exported to CSV at any time and used in the organization’s own email or audience-management system.
Does CultureOwl replace an organization’s email or CRM system?
No. CultureOwl is not a replacement for an email service provider or a CRM. Organizations export their CultureOwl ticket-buyer data and use it in the system they already have; CultureOwl’s email value is in promoting events to the cultural audience it has gathered.
Does CultureOwl have a donor CRM or fundraising tools?
No. CultureOwl does not include a patron CRM or a fundraising suite — no donor records, giving history, household relationships, campaigns, appeals, pledges or grant tracking. Donations can be collected at checkout and are paid out to the organization.
Does CultureOwl support reserved seating and season subscriptions?
CultureOwl supports reserved seating with custom seat maps and ticket holds, at no per-seat charge. It does not support season subscription packages with renewal cycles; multi-date events and recurring schedules are supported, but subscription renewals are not.
What ticketing features does CultureOwl include?
CultureOwl ticketing includes online and box-office sales, reserved seating with custom seat maps, ticket holds, timed entry, mobile scanning at the door, attendee lists, donations at checkout and CSV export of orders and attendees.
