On Miracle Mile in Coral Gables lies the loveliest Italian trattoria, Salumeria 104. Rustic charm mingles with Miami’s easy energy at this fan favorite, where Italian classics, signature salumi and the finest Italian wines come together in perfect harmony. The casual-chic space mirrors an Italian home with earthy tones, white brick walls, a cozy bar and ambiance, handcrafted wooden tables, terrazzo flooring, traditional straw chairs, and indoor and outdoor seating. With friendly service (who walk you through time-honored recipe origins!) and pristine ingredients, every visit is pure la dolce vita!
Executive Chef and partner Angelo Masarin draws inspiration from the dishes that reflect his childhood. Born in the Venetian Province of Treviso, he was just a boy when his grandmother taught him traditional techniques. Later donning his first apron in Milan at 17, Masarin pursued formal culinary studies. Blending traditional favorites with seasonal specials, he sources the freshest, highest-grade ingredients to bring each recipe to life. As a result, the trattoria’s menu balances longtime favorites with seasonal specials driven by his daily inspirations and specialty ingredients.

We begin the culinary festivities with a Salumi tasting board. The Mortadella with Pistachios - mild, savory and subtly spiced - is a classic Bologna sausage that is prized for its silky pink texture and signature flecks of pistachio and pork fat. Salame Nostrano, a Northern Italian dry-cured sausage, is a decadent crowd-pleaser that is intense, balanced, peppery and subtly sweet. The Prosciutto San Daniele is a dry-cured ham from Friuli, celebrated for its refined aroma, and it’s one of Italy’s most elegant expressions of prosciutto.
Pair these revered salumi with a soft pecorino cheese from Umbria bursting with earthy truffle, an opulent honey and truffle dip, breadsticks from Turin and glasses of sparkling Prosecco from Veneto. Hungry for more? Then try the abundance of salumi: Prosciutto di Parma, Prosciutto Cotto, Porchetta, and Guanciale.

The Vitello Tonnato arrives, a generous plate beautifully presented as a rosette. This nuanced Piedmont classic of thinly sliced, chilled roasted veal is topped with a rich and creamy tuna sauce and fried capers that pop with flavor. Delicately tender, the enticing Tonnato sauce sits in the center surrounded by meaty veal slices. Such a perfect pairing!
House-made pastas anchor the mains, and you simply can’t resist the gorgeous Spaghetti alla Bottarga from Sardinia. Savory yet balanced without being overpowering, the shredded cured fish roe is lifted by Calabrian chili oil and cherry tomatoes, allowing its delicate umami-forward intensity to shine. Elegant and restrained, it’s a dish that rewards simplicity and precision. Pair this Sardinian gem with a Sardinian Vermentino - crisp, fruity, floral. Simple perfection.

Fettuccine Nere features black squid ink pasta tossed with sweet, tender shrimp, garlic, Calabrian chili oil and a bright tomato sauce. Briny, bright and beautifully balanced, the dish delivers depth without heaviness. Each bite is vibrant and unmistakably coastal. A sprinkle of fresh herbs makes each bite as visually stunning as it is flavorful.
Want more pasta? We also recommend the slow-cooked Tagliatelle Bolognese, magnificent Lasagna Del Salumerie, and flavorful Cacio e Pepe - finished in a cheese wheel tableside. Feel free to add black truffle. Delizioso!

The menu features meat and seafood highlights like butterflied Branzino and Milanese pork chop to roasted Porchetta and braised Coniglio. Salute! Salumeria 104’s wine program highlights Italian selections by the glass and bottle to suit plenty of tastes: Falanghina, Gavi, Sancerre Blanc, Lambrusco, Valpolicella, Chianti Classico, Super Tuscan, and Nebbiolo.
Desserts are kept classic, and we loved the warm, light almond cake. House-made, this delectable Sicilian cake is perfectly moist, dense, sweet with citrus undertones, topped with powdered sugar and paired with vanilla ice cream. Elevate this dessert with chilled Limoncello. Mama mia! Want more sweetness? Try the Lemon Panna Cotta and Tiramisu.

This Coral Gables gem is just one of several South Florida locations, including Midtown Miami and Weston. Guests can also take home salumi, sliced by the pound, and sample a variety of flavors, true to the salumeria tradition. Also lining the shelves is plenty of coffee, pasta, Panettone (just in time for the holidays!), capers, olives and more. Buon appetito!
