DEERING ESTATE: SPRING CONTEMPORARY - HOMEMAKING
Through June 13th
The exhibition explores the notions of home, identity, site and community - and these concepts as a precursor to the centennial celebration of the Stone House. Homemaking brings together a group of works that take a variety of approaches in considering what makes a house a home. The exhibition includes paintings, sculpture, photography, performance and sound installations that each considers the site as a domestic space, filled with memories, identities, and histories. DANCE NOW! MIAMI: COLONIALISM AND CONVERSOS - A CONVERSATION THROUGH DANCE

Join Dance NOW! Miami for an afternoon of dance— live, and in-person at JMOF-FIU, featuring the company’s newest work “Anusim, what is hidden is never lost.” “Anusim” is a commentary on the story of the Jews of Portugal during the inquisition of 1497 and the decree of King Manuel I allowing Jews to remain in Portugal as “New Christians.” More event details here.
MIAMI BEACH URBAN STUDIOS: LIVE ART WITH DEVORA PEREZ

Devora Perez is a visual artist, born and raised in Miami. She earned her BFA from New World School of the Arts in 2016, and her MFA from Florida International University in 2020. Perez participated in a one-year residency program with Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator in 2018. In the same year she traveled to Belize as an artist ambassador, as part of DVCAI’s International Cultural Exchange program funded by Miami Dade Department of Cultural Affairs. She was awarded the Betty Laird Perry Award from the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum in 2020. More event details here.
FROST ART MUSEUM: PEGGY LEVISON NOLAN - BLUEPRINT FOR A GOOD LIFE

Peggy Levison Nolan raised her seven children in the Miami area, mostly in Naranja and Hollywood, Florida. With ardent dedication and unflinching adaptability, Nolan and her family lived in working-class neighborhoods, alongside other families who became a source of support and occasionally served as her muses. Her work embodies intimacy; this body of photography Blueprint for a Good Life depicts fleeting moments in time. Nolan’s photographs are personal, and yet they tap into our collective nostalgia of family, young love, and boundless joy while recording a family’s resiliency amidst economic and social challenges.
