In honor of Black History Month, we've compiled a list of cultural events that are celebrating!

VIRGINIA KEY BEACH PARK: BLACK HISTORY MONTH TOURS

Through February 28th - Tues., Thurs. and Sat. at 10am and 2pm

FANTASY THEATRE FACTORY AT SANDRELL RIVER THEATER: ISABEL TUCEN'S SOUL BY SOUL

February 6th at 8:00 pm

A Stage-to-Screen show based on Harriet Tubman - one of the most famous conductors of the Underground Railroad. More event details here.

SOUTH BEACH CHAMBER ENSEMBLE: COLERIDGE-TAYLOR AND BRAHMS

February 7th 6:00 pm

Celebrating Black History Month with guest host Nicole Henry and guest musicians Chauncey Patterson, viola, and Andres Candamil, clarinet. Coleridge-Taylor Clarinet Quintet in F# minor, Op. 10 and Brahms Clarinet Quintet in B minor, Op.115. More event details here.

FANTASY THEATRE FACTORY AT SANDRELL RIVER THEATER: SACRED FIRE

February 13th at 7:00 pm

Sacred Fire explores a range of Western classical music by composers of African descent by merging engaging visual elements and sound. A chronological musical journey from Afro-British to Afro-Brazilian music, narrated with poetic prose and accompanied with elements of movement and visual art. More event details here.

FANTASY THEATRE FACTORY AT SANDRELL RIVER THEATER: LIFT EVERY VOICE- BLACK WOMEN SPEAK MONOLOGUE FESTIVAL

February 19th at 7:00 pm

“Lift Every Voice - Black Women Speak” features the reading of 14 monologues that unleash the thoughts and experiences of black women playwrights from across the country. More event details here.

CORNELL ART MUSEUM AT OLD SCHOOL SQUARE

Celebrate Black History Month with two prominent artists in Palm Beach County - Crystal Bacchus, who creates gorgeous watercolor pieces, and Michelle Drummond, whose fiber art pieces hang in the Cornell’s main exhibition space. Both artists will be sharing their stories online their stories online in an effort to celebrate many different cultures for Black History Month. Crystal Bacchus will discuss the importance of supporting Black-owned businesses, while Michelle will be discussing her Jamaican heritage and the in influence of her cultural background on her work in two digital pieces that the Museum will post online for all viewers, free of charge.

Crystal Bacchus video will be released Friday, February 12th and Michelle Drummond’s video will be released on Wednesday, February 24th. Check the videos out on Instagram, Facebook and Youtube.

HISTORY MIAMI MUSEUM: A NIGHT WITH DELOU AFRICA DANCE ENSEMBLE

February 25th at 7:00 pm

Join artist-in-residence Delou Africa Dance Ensemble for a lively presentation of music and dance traditions! This collective of seasoned artists will perform West African dance and drum techniques, as well as Caribbean music styles of the African Diaspora.
