Show Run: When Matter Becomes Meaning

Saturday, October 2 at 11 AM - 4 PM
A&H Maitland Art Center, Maitland
Art & MuseumsExhibit

About This Event

Occupying the museum’s intimate historic galleries, Carlos Medina: When Matter Becomes Meaning will present a major site-responsive…

Recognized internationally for his minimalist geometric sculptures and large-scale spatial interventions, Medina has spent decades exploring the expressive potential of form through sculpture, drawing, painting, and installation. His celebrated suspended compositions and refined geometric forms challenge conventional understandings of space, balance, and permanence.

The exhibition will offer visitors a rare opportunity to encounter Medina’s work within the unique architectural context of the Art & History Museums of Maitland. By activating the museum’s historic spaces through contemporary artistic intervention, Medina will create poetic environments that blur the boundaries between art, science, and philosophy. His works encourage attentive looking and invite reflection on the relationship between the physical world and the intangible meanings we derive from it.
