RIGHT IN THE EYE — VI FIAE

CENTRAL FLORIDA PREMIERE. Open Scene brings France’s Alcoléa & cie to Central Florida with Right in the Eye , a live cine-concert built around 12 films by Georges Méliès, the visionary filmmaker who helped shape the language of cinematic illusion.

Three musicians perform an original score live, combining piano, percussion, guitar and other instruments with unexpected objects and sound-making devices. Music and moving images work together to reimagine the inventive spirit of early cinema, exploring the relationship between image, rhythm, sound and live performance. Méliès’ pioneering visual imagination meets contemporary musical composition and sound creation in a singular live experience.

Alcoléa & cie has brought its work to audiences internationally, and Open Scene now brings Right in the Eye to Central Florida for the first time.
