RIGHT IN THE EYE — VI FIAE | Maitland, FL

CENTRAL FLORIDA PREMIERE. Open Scene brings France’s Alcoléa & cie to Central Florida with Right in the Eye , a live cine-concert built around 12 films by Georges Méliès, the visionary filmmaker who helped invent the language of cinematic illusion.

Three musicians perform the score live using nearly 50 instruments, unconventional sound objects and unexpected musical devices. Silent cinema, contemporary composition, theater and invention collide as Méliès’ impossible worlds are rebuilt in sound before your eyes.

This is not a traditional film screening with musical accompaniment. The musicians, instruments and act of creating sound are part of the spectacle.

Alcoléa & cie has brought its work to audiences internationally, and Open Scene now brings Right in the Eye to Central Florida for the first time.
