Pirates and Mermaids

The event typically invites attendees to don their best pirate or mermaid attire for a uniquely themed day or evening amidst the only frost-free, subtropical native forest in the continental United States. Past variations of this theme at the garden have featured popular adult rum-infused scavenger hunts to raise funds for Monroe County school children's educational field trips

The Activities: Teams compete in a fast-paced, one-hour scavenger hunt across the 15-acre tropical forest to identify specific plants and hidden items. The evening features rum-infused drinks, an open bar, dinner, music, a raffle, and a costume competition.
