Lika Bibileishvili, Georgian Pianist — Discovery Series Recital at The Wolfsonian, Miami Beach

The Georgian-born pianist Lika Bibileishvili, among the most outstanding musicians of her generation, makes her Discovery Series appearance at The Wolfsonian–FIU.

The artist

Born in Batumi, she began playing at four, trained at the Georgian National Ballet alongside her piano studies, and made her orchestral debut at twelve with Rachmaninoff's First Concerto. She studied in Munich and at the Mozarteum Salzburg, and the most profound influence on her playing came from long studies with the legendary Dmitri Bashkirov. Her debut album on Farao Classics (Prokofiev, Ravel, Sibelius, Bartók) was nominated in five categories for the Opus Klassik; the Süddeutsche Zeitung called her an “extraordinary artistic personality.” She has performed at the Munich Philharmonie, Suntory Hall Tokyo and the Klavierfestival Ruhr, and since 2024 teaches at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.
