Córdoba in Miami: Spanish Pianists Daniel del Pino & Emin Kiourktchian at UM Frost

Two distinguished pianists from the Festival Internacional de Piano Rafael Orozco bring the musical spirit of Córdoba to South Florida, celebrating the legacy of the great Spanish pianist Rafael Orozco (1946–1996) and opening a permanent artistic bridge between Córdoba and Miami.

This opening gala of the transatlantic partnership between the Miami International Piano Festival and the Córdoba festival, formally approved by the City of Córdoba in 2026, brings the artistic excellence of Córdoba to Miami for the first time. On November 5 the exchange continues in Spain, when the Miami festival appears at the Gran Teatro de Córdoba with the Orquesta de Córdoba.

The artists

Daniel del Pino is one of Spain's leading concert pianists. He has performed on all five continents, from Carnegie Hall and the Salle Gaveau to Madrid's Auditorio Nacional, and has recorded the complete Chopin Études and Granados' Goyescas.

Emin Kiourktchian, born in Córdoba, has studied with Elisabeth Leonskaja, Robert Levin, Boris Berman and Evgeny Kissin, and has appeared as soloist at the Berliner Dom and Madrid's National Auditorium.

About the Miami International Piano Festival

Founded in 1997 by Giselle Brodsky, the Miami International Piano Festival has built its reputation on discovering pianists of extraordinary individuality, through its concerts, its Academy, educational programs in the United States and Italy, recordings and masterclasses. Many artists it presented early have gone on to major international careers.
