Tango Classes

Step into the world of Argentine Tango and experience an evening of music, movement, and connection in one of Miami’s most beautiful and historic venues. Every Monday night, Alma de Tango invites you to the iconic Miami Woman’s Club, overlooking Biscayne Bay, for authentic Argentine Tango classes led by internationally recognized instructor and performer Monica Llobet.

Whether you’re taking your very first dance class or have previous tango experience and want to continue growing, our Monday program is designed to welcome dancers of all levels. You can choose the class that best fits your experience:

Beginner Class – 7:00 PM

Perfect for first-time dancers, curious beginners, couples looking for a unique date night, and anyone wanting to experience the joy of Argentine Tango in a friendly, supportive environment.

You’ll be introduced to:

• The tango walk and fundamental steps

• Proper embrace, posture, and body awareness

• Musicality and rhythm basics

• Partner connection and communication

• Simple turns and social dance navigation

• The confidence to enjoy your first tango experiences on the dance floor

Intermediate Class – 7:45 PM

Designed for dancers who know the basics and are ready to deepen their understanding of Argentine Tango through more advanced technique and musical expression.

You’ll explore:

• Advanced combinations and movement sequences

• Musical interpretation and phrasing

• Refined lead-and-follow techniques

• Pauses, dynamics, and expressive movement

• Improved connection and communication with your partner

• Greater confidence and creativity on the social dance floor

No partner is required to attend. Many of our students come on their own, and optional partner rotation during class allows everyone to learn, practice, and enjoy dancing with different partners. You’re also welcome to attend with a spouse, significant other, family member, or friend.

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Closed-toe shoes with smooth soles are recommended, and we encourage you to bring a bottle of water and arrive approximately 10 minutes early for check-in.
