Nick van Bloss Plays Bach's Goldberg Variations — Piano Recital in Aventura

British pianist Nick van Bloss, celebrated for interpretations that place a premium on refinement, subtlety and intellectual depth, returns to the Miami International Piano Festival with one of the towering summits of the keyboard repertoire: Bach's Goldberg Variations.

The artist

Born in London, van Bloss trained as a chorister at Westminster Abbey and entered the Royal College of Music at fifteen; Tatiana Nikolayeva called him “the finished article of a pianist.” After a celebrated return to the stage at London's Cadogan Hall in 2009, his recording of the Goldberg Variations was placed by a BBC programme in the “final four” of all recordings, alongside Schiff, Gould and Perahia. His Diabelli Variations won Pizzicato Magazine's Supersonic Award. He has appeared at Wigmore Hall, the Royal Festival Hall and with the English Chamber Orchestra, and is International Artist in Residence at Radford University and a member of the faculty of the Miami International Piano Festival Academy.

Classical Sundays at Five is the festival's Sunday-afternoon recital series at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center: international pianists on Sunday afternoons at 5:00 pm.
