Bird Walk

The Deering Estate is part of the Biscayne Bay IBA (Important Bird Area), recognized as a globally important habitat for bird conservation. Explore a variety of the Estate’s unique ecosystems with a knowledgeable guide as you search for some of its estimated 200 resident and migratory bird species, including warblers, herons, and sandpipers.

Upon arriving for your event please meet our staff at the Visitor Center.

Age Requirements: This program is open to adults (18+) and youth ages 6–17 accompanied by a registered parent or guardian. Registration is available online through Park Link.

Know Before You Go: Participants should wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for hiking. Please bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and insect repellent, as mosquitoes are common. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted. Guests are also encouraged to document their flora and fauna observations using the iNaturalist app. (Available on Google Play and App Store).

Please meet at the Visitor Center and arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled program start time. Tours begin promptly as scheduled. Late arrivals will be considered no-shows and will not be permitted to participate. Refunds, transfers, or credits will NOT be issued for missed programs.
