Mote Marine Aquarium
Just 24 miles from Key West, in the heart of the Lower Keys, the Elizabeth Moore International Center for Coral Reef Research & Restoration (IC2R3) at Mote Marine Laboratory is a cutting-edge facility dedicated to advancing marine science and education in the Florida Keys.
Ideally situated, the center provides easy access to a rich variety of nearby ecosystems—including coral reefs, seagrass meadows, nearshore hard-bottom areas, mangrove forests, and unique terrestrial habitats—many of which are protected within National Wildlife Refuges and the NOAA-managed Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.
