From Romantic melodies to mimicking the Afro-Venezuelan instrument Quitiplás, the cello does it all in this special chamber music concert featuring young phenom Oliver Herbert. Johannes Brahms packs his Second Piano Trio with rich emotion and playful tunes that mimic catchy themes for The Simpsons and The Jetsons. Witness the world premiere of prohibido by Cuban-American composer and FIU professor Orlando Jacinto García. Influenced by the art and poems of children held prisoner during WWII, prohibido is a moving statement against all repression. Through a partnership with Miami City Ballet, NWS will present commissioned choreography to prohibido by Ariel Rose.
