About This Event

We leave moved. Does anything actually move? A conversation about art, transformation, and the difference between emotional impact and…

Late Conversations is a recurring series of open discussions held at the Germaine Marvel Building at the Art & History Museums of Maitland. Each evening brings together a small group around one question, with wine, water or coffee, without agendas, and without easy answers. Conversations are held primarily in English. Language assistance in 25+ languages available upon request.

Art and culture are often presented as vehicles for transformation. But what kind of transformation do they truly produce?

This Late Conversations evening examines the tension between artistic engagement, symbolic progress, and real structural change. Can art alter society, or only perception? When does culture provoke action, and when does it become emotional comfort?

An honest, open conversation. All perspectives welcome.

Suggested donation $10, it includes a glass of wine at the door. All amounts welcome, no one turned away.
