About This Event

Explore chinoiserie watercolor techniques and traditional motifs while creating your own decorative paper panel in this two-day workshop.

Here’s a longer, more engaging version for the event listing:

Discover the elegance and artistry of chinoiserie in this two-day watercolor workshop with Margot Griffin. Inspired by the decorative style that blends European design with traditional East Asian imagery, chinoiserie is known for its graceful botanical elements, delicate details, and nature-inspired motifs.

Throughout the workshop, Margot will guide you through the techniques, motifs, and design principles that bring this distinctive style to life. You’ll explore watercolor painting methods while learning how to build a balanced composition and incorporate traditional chinoiserie-inspired elements into your work.

By the end of the two-day experience, you’ll create your own beautifully painted paper panel to take home. This workshop is open to beginner, intermediate, and advanced artists. Beginners are welcome, though taking an introductory watercolor class beforehand may be helpful for getting the most out of the experience.

Join us October 20–21 from 1–4 p.m. for two creative afternoons of watercolor, pattern, and timeless decorative art.
