Brundibár / Vedem

Presented in partnership with The Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida, Brundibár / Vedem brings together two works created during World War II inside the Theresienstadt ghetto. Hans Krása’s children’s opera Brundibár became a symbol of resilience after being performed more than fifty times by imprisoned children, while Lori Laitman’s Vedem draws inspiration from the underground literary magazine created by teenage boys within the camp.

Performed by the Opera Orlando Youth Company, this moving production honors the power of creativity, hope, and artistic expression in the face of unimaginable hardship.
