Tropic Cinema in Key West

**The Tropic Cinema** opened in 2004 with a simple goal: to bring high-quality, independent, international, and classic films to Key West—something beyond mainstream Hollywood. Our creative island community deserved more than just blockbusters. The theater stands out with its iconic aqua-blue Art Deco marquee, a Marilyn Monroe sculpture by Seward Johnson, and a local twist on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Inside, you'll find three cozy theaters with state-of-the-art digital projection, neon details, and plush seating. The **Zabar Concession Bar** serves popular beers, wines, Zabar’s coffee, and the island’s favorite popcorn—real butter and a wide selection of seasonings. Beyond movies, the Tropic hosts concerts, lectures, and lively parties. We've welcomed stars like John Waters, Doug Liman, Mariel Hemingway, and authors Judy Blume and Meg Cabot.
