Ponce City Market
Named after Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León and his legendary quest for the Fountain of Youth, Ponce de Leon Springs became a popular retreat for Atlantans seeking relaxation and renewal in the 1860s. By 1874, the area saw a boost in visitors with the introduction of the horse-drawn Atlanta Street Railway, and by the 1890s, even more arrived via the Nine-Mile Circle streetcar line.
