Oldest Wooden School House
The Oldest Wooden School House Historic Museum & Gardens invites visitors to explore the historic Minorcan home of Juan Genopoly, built in the late 1700s. This special site focuses on preserving history and educating the public.
The Experience
At the Old School, people of all ages can see an original piece of American history. The Genopoly House shows what life was like for Minorcan settlers and students in the 1800s. Visitors can enjoy both fun and learning during their visit.
The self-guided tour starts with a talking figure of the Professor who welcomes you. Guests can explore the schoolhouse, kitchen, and gardens—and everyone receives a diploma at the end! Groups of 10 or more should book a tour in advance.
