Event Description
Follow us through the looking glass and down the rabbit hole into a WMODA Wonderland on Saturday, December 4.
At 10am, Michael Doulton, a direct descendant of the founder of the Royal Doulton Potteries in England, will be opening our new Alice in Wonderland exhibit - maybe he will reprise his role as the Mad Hatter for the occasion!
We will be unveiling the Mannequin Project featuring artists in the community who have been upcycling obsolete shop mannequins as works of art. At noon, the mannequins will come to life thanks to Chelsea Rousso whose wearable “glasskinis” and corsets will be presented by live models in our Hot Glass gallery.
In the afternoon, Wynwood glass artist, Rob Stern, will be improvising on musical instruments made of glass with keyboard responses from Dave Rosenthal, a multi-disciplinary artist who has mapped the sounds of glassmaking to create a musical score.
Even more wonderful – admission is FREE to WMODA on Saturday, December 4.
