ARTS BALLET THEATRE OF FLORIDA ANNOUNCES 2021-2022 SEASON

We have missed live performances and are excited to hear that Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida is coming back to its regular season and all venues!
The season includes the cherished holiday favorite, "The Nutcracker," at the newly renovated Parker Playhouse of Fort Lauderdale and the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center. There will 10 performances (Dec. 9-19) including 3 performances for the public schools of Miami Dade and Broward Counties and a Sensory Friendly performance for children and adults within the Autistic Spectrum and other disabilities.
Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida was able to offer live performances during the pandemic at the Broward Center with live audiences, thanks to the generosity of donors, ticket buyers, and the community at large.
They are extremely grateful to the audiences who joined them during the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic and we cannot wait to welcome everyone back to the theatre in the fall, to enjoy world-class performances this upcoming season.
Led by Artistic Director Master Vladimir Issaev, new ballet dancers coming from the US, United Kingdom, Japan, Brazil and Venezuela, have joined the North Miami-Dade based ballet company and are eager to perform a full season of excellent works of classical Russian-style ballets, Neoclassical ballets and Contemporary dance works. A new corps, made of both local and international dancers, are joining the company for a brand new start.
The season opens on October 3rd, featuring a new work: “UNBROKEN”, an original ballet performance choreographed by Ballet Master Vladimir Issaev which will bring to the stage the music of Édouard Lalo’s Namouna. This re-imagining of Lalo’s Romantic ballet serves as a testament to the timelessness of Classical ballet as well as its continuity during these challenging and changing times while introducing the audience to the future of Classical ballet.
Additional repertoire includes “Viva España” with music by Massenet and Choreography by Issaev and other neo classical and contemporary pieces TBA.

PROGRAM II - THE NUTCRACKER
Snowflakes, sugarplums, naughty little boys, and magical dolls! The charm of the Holidays fascinates all audiences as Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida presents the classic ballet "The Nutcracker" to Tchaikovsky's popular score based on the tale of Ernest Hoffman. The critically acclaimed performance is choreographed and directed by renowned Ballet Master
Vladimir Issaev.
This awarded professional company features their own ballet stars performing the principal roles, as well as a community cast made up of local character artists and children. The engaging choreography- from the fun of the party scene- to the harrowing battle scene- to the enchanting kingdom of the sweets- is guaranteed to entertain any age.
The Nutcracker is not only the most popular ballet enjoyed by audiences around the world during this time of the year but it also serves as an introduction to ballet for young audiences.

PROGRAM III - COPPELIA
Arts Ballet will bring its own version of "Coppelia" in March of 2022 with music by Leo Delibes and choreography by Vladimir Issaev based on such of Arthur Saint-Leon. Coppelia is a timeless ballet, favorite of dancers and audiences alike about the love story of the young girl Swanilda and her boyfriend Frantz. They believe a doll named “Coppelia” is a real girl and Frantz starts flirting with the adorable puppet. Captivated at the sight of Dr. Coppelius new life size doll, Frantz sneaks into the mad inventor’s workshop, and confusion begins leading into a delightful and lovely comedy.

PROGRAM IV - THE SPRING BALLET GALA
The final program of the season will be the “Spring Ballet Gala”, with a classical repertoire that only high-quality dancers can perform. The repertoire includes the most famous classical Pas de Deux and neoclassical pieces choreographed by Master Issaev and guest choreographers who promise to shatter expectations of what ballet really is.
