Take your ceramic work to the next level in this two-day advanced workshop! Learn to create and fire in-glaze lusters at mid- and high-fire temperatures. Part science, part alchemy, these metallic glazes (including bismuth and silver) develop stunning iridescence when reduction fired.
Lisa Zolandz will guide you through the chemistry, testing, and development of luster glazes, sharing her extensive experimentation and multiple methods for post-fire reduction, including a small raku-style kiln. Attendees will participate in post-fire reduction, witnessing firsthand the incredible variability and beauty of these glazes.
Intermediate, Advanced, and Professional levels welcome.
