Glen Hansard has released five studio albums, the latest being All That Was East Is West Of Me Now (October 2023), marking one year since his single Take Heart—a collaboration with Ukrainian Action inspired by time spent with Ukrainian refugees in Ireland. In 2022, he toured as part of Eddie Vedder’s Earthlings band and contributed to the Flag Day soundtrack alongside Vedder and Cat Power.
Meanwhile, The Swell Season—Hansard’s duo with Markéta Irglová—has reunited. After a limited run of sold-out shows in March 2022 and a broader U.S. tour in August 2023, they’ve returned with new music. What began as a session for a few singles evolved into a full-length album titled Forward—their first in 16 years, following the release of the standalone single The Answer Is Yes in June 2023.
