Aaron Copland's "Appalachian Spring" captures the essence of an ideal America, on of open fields and endless possibilities. When Copland began his Pulitzer Prize-winning ballet score in 1942 he couldn't have foreseen that it would become one of the most inspiring and symbolic works of the century.
Carter Brey is an American cello virtuoso. He has a prolific solo career and is the principal cellist of the New York Philharmonic. "The beauty of his tone and his way with a long lyric phrase are both spectacular." -The Chicago Sun-Times
Pre-Concert Lectures will begin 30 minutes before show time inside the theater.
