Discover the creative possibilities of stone carving in this immersive class designed for all skill levels.
From the very first session, you’ll dive into the fundamentals—learning how to select appropriate stones, approach form, and use basic hand tools like chisels and hammers. Each week features guided demonstrations that lead into hands-on experimentation, giving you the opportunity to explore measuring techniques, geometric enlargement and reduction, and safe introduction to select power tools. As you work, you’ll refine your carving skills, develop your understanding of form, and gain confidence in creating your own stone sculptures. By the end of the course, you’ll leave with original carved pieces and the knowledge to continue carving independently.
Please note: Beginner-friendly; register two weeks in advance for stone purchase ($50–$100).
