Discover the creative possibilities of portrait and still-life painting in this immersive 6-week Wednesday class designed for intermediate and advanced artists.
From the very first session, you’ll dive into the fundamentals—exploring multiple approaches to perfecting your skills in pastel, charcoal, or oil. Each week features guided demonstrations that lead into hands-on experimentation, giving you the opportunity to create accurate portraits from photographs or develop still-life compositions of objects, flowers, and reflective surfaces like brass and silver. As you work, you’ll refine your color mixing, tonal values, edge control, and drawing accuracy. By the end of the course, you’ll leave with a collection of original works and the confidence to continue developing your artistic practice independently.
