Event Description
Returning to the Miami Piano Festival series at Broward after several acclaimed appearances, British Pianist Nick Van Bloss performs as part of the 2016 Masters Series salute to Beethoven, Bach and Brahms. Famed for tackling some of the most technically challenging and emotionally revealing works in the classical canon, Van Bloss, who has Tourette's Syndrome, is also known for his struggles and triumphs over the condition, as explored in both a BBC documentary and a 2007 book by Oliver Sacks. One of Van Bloss' prior Miami concerts was described by the Herald as "scintillating ... memorable" and "a vast musical journey assayed with imagination and depth of feeling." For this outing, he'll tackle Beethoven's demanding Diabelli Variations and Bach's Partita No. 2 in C minor.
