Little Feat came out of the pandemic with their talent, humor, and love for playing music stronger than ever. Over the past few years, they’ve hit the road celebrating their legendary live album Waiting for Columbus and re-released a few fan-favorite records — Sailin’ Shoes, Dixie Chicken, and Feats Don’t Fail Me Now. Fans have been loving every minute of it.
With over 50 years of history, Little Feat is known for blending California rock with funk, jazz, country, folk, and New Orleans-style grooves. Their unique sound, heard in classics like “Dixie Chicken,” “Fat Man in the Bathtub,” and “Feats Don’t Fail Me Now,” has kept fans dancing for decades. Even after the loss of founding members Lowell George and Richie Hayward, the band never missed a beat.
Today, they’re sounding as good as ever. Scott Sharrard and Tony Leone have joined the core lineup of Bill Payne, Fred Tackett, Kenny Gradney, and Sam Clayton — all seasoned players bringing fresh energy to the band.
Now, they’re looking ahead. In 2024, they released Sam’s Place, a new album that shines a spotlight on longtime conga player Sam Clayton as lead vocalist. The album includes the original track “Milk Man” and a fiery live version of “Got My Mojo Working.” There’s even a soulful duet with Sam and Bonnie Raitt on Muddy Waters’ “Long Distance Call.”
