The star-studded sextet includes Jones on drums, Terell Stafford, trumpet; Robin Eubanks, trombone; Ralph Moore, sax; Eric Reed, piano, and Gerald Cannon, bass. Willie Jones is one of NYC’s most prominent drummers with an abiding musicality and a tonal personality that, as Wynton Marsalis
puts it, is “ever tasteful.” Pianist Eric Reed, Jones’s frequent collaborator, says Jones has a “West Coast swagger in his swing.” It will be a great night for lovin’ that jazz!
