Event Description
The film follows Edward, a burgeoning novelist whose debut young adult novel about queer romance gains unexpected popularity in the U.S. While preparing for a promotional book tour, Edward is also the primary caregiver for his 81-year-old mother, Alma, who is wheelchair-bound following a stroke. When his friends decide to attend a Pride event, they leave their own mothers in Edward's care, resulting in a weekend filled with challenges as he manages four strong-willed, elderly women. The film explores themes of familial duty, personal ambition, and the complexities of caregiving. It vacillates between all to familiar moments of sadness as well as uproarious laughter.
