Discover the creative possibilities of pottery decoration in this immersive 6-week Thursday class open to all skill levels.
From the very first session, you’ll dive into the fundamentals—learning a variety of surface techniques including Cuerda Seca, Mishima, Majolica, stenciling, underglaze painting, wax resist, sgraffito, and the use of oxides for antiquing. Each week features guided demonstrations that lead into hands-on experimentation, giving you the opportunity to practice on clay tiles and functional pieces while exploring both traditional and inventive decorative methods. As you work, you’ll refine your techniques, expand your creative expression, and gain confidence in decorating pottery. By the end of the course, you’ll leave with a collection of original pieces and the skills to continue exploring surface decoration independently.
