Discover the creative possibilities of handbuilding in this immersive 6-week class designed for beginners and students with some clay experience.
From the very first session, you’ll dive into the fundamentals—learning coiling, pinching, and slab construction to create sculptural vessels. Each week features guided demonstrations that lead into hands-on experimentation, giving you the opportunity to explore organic forms, textures, and detailed surfaces. You’ll also be introduced to surface decoration techniques including carving, glazing, and underglazing. As you work, you’ll refine your technical skills, develop your artistic voice, and gain confidence in expressing yourself through ceramics. By the end of the course, you’ll leave with unique, personal sculptural pieces.
*Please note: Beginners welcome; some clay experience helpful.
