Event Description
Discover the creative possibilities of clay handbuilding in this immersive 6-week Tuesday class designed for beginner artists. From the very first session, you’ll explore a variety of techniques—including coil, slab, extruder, and hump & slump molds—to create functional and decorative pieces like plates, bowls, mugs, boxes, and lidded containers.
Each week features a new project with guided instruction, giving you the opportunity to experiment, build skills, and gain confidence in handbuilding. You’ll also learn glazing with studio glazes and underglazes, plus explore alternative firing techniques such as Raku and Obvara.
By the end of the course, you’ll leave with a collection of original clay pieces and the foundation to continue exploring handbuilding on your own.
