BFA DANCE CONCERTFriday 3/5
The BFA class of 2021 will present works by graduating choreographers in a program entitled Mosaic: A fragmented movement series which includes both, works created for the stage and works created as dance films. Kally Bethea sets her work, You Won't Find Me amidst the tropical and lush greenery of Miami in a setting at once beautiful and mysterious. #21, a site specific dance filmed on a rooftop at sunset is by Mika Santo and Margaret Bryant and showcases a trio of dancers moving as if they are touching both earth and sky. Ashanti Miller's powerful film dance, Black Men Don't Cry, features a solo performer/dancer embodying struggle, fear and isolation. Bailey Bergstrom's work, 57C, explores the urban defiling of the natural environment of Miami while Danielle Davis' work, Stuck, is an athletic and self-contained work filmed in the theater. “You’re in a cult, call your dad" by Dianne Cano is set to the poem “No Te Rindas” by Mario Benedetti.
