“The Obama Portraits Tour” will commence in Chicago June 18th and will continue across the United States through May 30, 2022, before returning to Washington. This is one of several national initiatives set by the Portrait Gallery to engage communities in the power of portraiture. Visitors hoping for a last look at the portrait of Michelle Obama before its departure can view the painting, alongside the featured gown designed by Michelle Smith’s label Milly, through May 23 as part of the special exhibition “Every Eye Is Upon Me: First Ladies of the United States.” Free, timed-entry passes for all ages in accordance with social-distancing policies can be reserved at si.edu/visit/passes. Power to the Patients advocates for patients' rights in terms of health care costs, asserting that health care prices should be clear, consistent and understood prior to services being rendered. Renowned artist and activist, Shepard Fairey, explains why real healthcare prices are needed now: “Patients deserve to know the prices of the procedures that they need ahead of time. They need to have the power to make good choices. Through a series of temporary exhibitions and programming, the space offers organizations an opportunity within Fairgrounds St. Pete to educate the public about their good works. An accomplished artist and sculptor, Jim Rolston was a founding board member of the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance. He truly found his artistic voice when he was able to devote all of his time to his art after retiring. Continually working to develop his talent, he was committed to arts education and training.
