More importantly, did the flamboyant journalistic exploits and provocative images associated with “yellow journalism” contribute to the U.S. declaration of war against Spain in 1898? To answer these questions, this exhibit retraces the steps of Richard Harding Davis, Stephen Crane, Remington, and other war correspondents from New York …

Improved brain function is a significant advantage of dancing regularly. Recent studies on the neurological effects of dance have found evidence of links between the brain’s reward centers and its sensory and motor circuits, both of which are activated when attempting to coordinate movements with the beat of a particular song. Strengthening these neural connections results in improved memory, and can also help treat people with progressive neurological disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease and dementia.Ever wonder why professional dancers don’t get dizzy, even when rapidly spinning and twirling across the stage? It’s because years of practice have blended their cerebral and cognitive thought processes, leading to increased fluidity through improved muscle memory. Dancing regularly enables the body to suppress signals in the inner ear that gauge balance and are linked to the cerebellum. So the more one dances, the less dizzy they become as the body gets conditioned.Other …

Having worked as an art director for some of Israel’s top agencies, Fuchs has a firm grasp on pop culture and gender roles in contemporary society, which serve as a familiar backdrop against which her imagination unfurls. Her understanding of the human psyche and her fierce talent morph into moving work that takes place somewhere in between fiction and reality, capturing glimpses from wondrous perspectives. The most central theme in her art is the female image and the various forms it can take in modern society. Her female characters are imbued with the full spectrum of human emotion and state of mind. It’s creative journalism, telling entire stories so many women could relate to with just a single portrait or illustrated moment. What’s particularly refreshing in Fuchs’ work is that she doesn’t try to glamorize women or turn them into mundane objects of perfection. Instead, she seeks to capture their drama, sassiness, inner confidence, unapologetic sex appeal, and …

This is the heart and foundation of community theatre. South Florida is unusual because of the intermingling in professional and granting organizations. Almost all theatres in the …
