There will be 3 distinct ways of watching this hybrid of theatre and film adaptation of Shakespeare's great tragedy. Viewers can see it live as a traditional theatre experience; they can also see it performed as a studio audience member watching the drama being filmed with nonstop action; and they can view it live-streamed into their home screen.

Peter Galman, founder and president of Shakespeare Troupe Inc. (STI), announced performances of William Shakespeare’s "Macbeth," beginning Thursday, December 5, 2024, as the Shakespeare Troupe of South Florida partners with filmmakers from Reel Theatre Productions (RTP) in its newest production at the intimate Sol Theatre, 3333 North Federal Highway in Boca Raton.

"The partnership of Shakespeare Troupe and Reel Theatre Productions will introduce Shakespeare to underserved audiences in a digital format, providing theatre goers with a culturally enriching, unique form of educative performance.," said Mr. Galman. "We aim to engage audiences in an immersive way that will transcend text book learning."

Director of the production is Seth Trucks (RTP's livestreamed "Unhinged"). "Are our choices our own? We are reframing Shakespeare’s Macbeth as a ritual spell which will engage the audience in a totally unique way," said Mr. Trucks.

Cinematographer Manny Zaldivar of Ravengard Entertainment will film while also managing much of the marketing with videos on social media and postings on ShakesTroupe.org. " There are 3 ways to watch this new adaptation of Macbeth, said Mr. Zaldivar, "One, as a traditionally seen live theater experience; second, as a member of a studio audience witnessing the filming of the play nonstop; and third, by sitting at home viewing the play being streamed onto a private screen."

The production features appearances by Jordon Armstrong as Macbeth, Sara Grant as Lady Macbeth, Todd Bruno as Macduff, Carey Brianna Hart as Lady Macduff, Brandon Campbell as Banquo, Seth Trucks as Porter, Nicole Hulett as Witch One, and Peter Galman as King Duncan.
