Delfini Jazz is composed entirely of JU faculty. Members of the band include John Ricci on saxophone; David Champagne on trumpet; Scott Giddens on the organ; Gary Starling on guitar; Rick Kirkland on drums; and Stan Piper on bass. Blending familiarities of modern jazz with a unique interpretation of hard bop among other styles, Project Alpha, The Delfini [Qunitet]’s debut EP, is fully representative of the group’s mission and capabilities as both musicians and composers. The group will celebrate the release of Project Alpha with a live performance at the Ronan School of Music in Jacksonville, Florida on March 5th, 2020.
