Virtual Orizome & Shibori Dyeing for BeginnersMonday 12/7
Join our instructor, Sammi McLean, in this virtual workshop, hosted on zoom!
This workshops will cover two dip-dyeing techniques: Orizome (paper) and Shibori (cloth)
Orizome is an ancient Japanese papercraft that virtually combines “origami’ paper folding and colored pigment dip-dyeing. Create your own beautifully patterned decorative papers using simple, household supplies.
Shibori is an ancient Japanese dye technique for dyeing fabric which uses methods of binding, folding, twisting and compressing cloth to create beautiful patterns. While traditional Shibori can require a lot of specialty dyes and supplies, this class will focus on translating the process using a simplified home set-up and liquid fabric dye.
This is a donation-based workshop where students supply their own materials. All materials are low-cost and easily accessible. For more information on the materials, how to sign-up and donation options, visit our website at: https://www.isprojectsfl.com/workshops/drumleaf-binding-online
