The Tropical Botanic Artists collective was established in Miami, Florida, in 2006 to highlight the beauty of tropical plants through art. Its members each bring a unique viewpoint to his or her work. They share a love of nature, and that fascination is reflected in their art.
Artist Kimberly Heise, alarmed by the fast rate of habitat destruction in South Florida, began to focus her art on conservation issues in 2016, painting Florida native plants and animals to celebrate and educate people about them. Her current subjects are native plants, pine rocklands habitat and Florida panthers.
