PLAY, LAY, AYE: Navigating queerness, where space is always in flux ACT IV – Performance
Sunday 1/31Created by artist GeoVanna Gonzalez and on view in the exhibition New Art South Florida, PLAY, LAY, AYE: Navigating queerness, where space is always in flux, examines the way public art can be used to create spaces that are more inclusive and queer. The project explores the ability for something or someone to be simultaneously in flux and stable, honoring the intersectional realities of our identities.
PLAY, LAY, AYE, Act IV is both a performance piece and place motivated by the acts of communal care in queer clubs, an homage to those who look out for their friends and strangers alike. In this fourth iteration, performance artist Akia Dorsavile will be the caretaker for the day as the viewers are engulfed in sound by artist LOKA (Yesenia Rojas).
