Group Exhibition: Feeling the Haitian Art

Collaborative Exhibition Showcases Five Diverse Artists

In collaboration with the Latin American Arts Pavilion (LAAP), the City of Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department will host an exhibition entitled ANN APRESYE ZEV ATIS AYISYEN: Let's Appreciate The Works of Haitian Artists. The exhibition will showcase the works of Carl-Philippe Juste, Vladymir Acloque, Cynthia “Teeyah” Zamor, and Asser Saint-Val, all Haitian-born, and Katiana Jarbath Smith, who was born in South Florida and whose parents emigrated from Haiti. The varied work explores social themes and includes cityscapes and landscapes, religious imagery, and figurative portrayals of Haitian celebrities, people on the street, and Carnival. The opening reception takes place on Friday, April 21, 2023, 6 pm at Ali Cultural Arts and will run through July 21, 2023. An artist talk will be held on May 25, 2023, at 6 pm.
