Between Two Palms is a livestream series of intimate conversations between award-winning art-makers from the performing, visual and literary arts and members of The Studios family.
The entrepreneurial EMMA MANNERS is the 11th DUCHESS OF RUTLAND. The Shropshire-born Duchess is in charge of Belvoir Castle and its estates, one of the most fairy-tale castles in England. As one of the great houses of the country it dates back originally to 1067, a treasure trove of great paintings and furniture and home for thirty-six generations of the family. As a 21st century Duchess, she oversees an estate with 16,000 acres of tenanted farms, 400 properties and 50 employees. The opulent stately manor has formed the backdrop for Netflix’s The Crown, PBS’s Young Victoria and the film The DaVinci Code. One of the UK’s most business-minded aristocrats, the Duchess’s discovery of the plans for the design of the Castle’s great park, drawn up 1780 by the legendary landscape architect, Lancelot “Capability” Brown, led to her extraordinary supervision of its restoration. In addition to creating and marketing branded items in The Duchess Gallery, the social-media savvy Duchess has recently created Belvoir Castle Gin.
