Howard Alan Events Kicks Off the New Year with the 28th Annual Las Olas Art Fair

Original art, eclectic displays, a wide array of styles and media, and the finest artists in the country define Las Olas’ premier art show, slated for January 9 – 10, 2016, from 10:00am – 5:00pm, on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, between SE 6th Avenue and SE 11th Avenue. The Las Olas Art Fair will feature 250 artists from around the country, hand selected from among hundreds of applicants to ensure diverse artwork of the highest quality. Admission is free and open to the public. Art enthusiasts will be able to leisurely stroll through the exhibits and engage the artists to gain a better understanding of the artistic process and the inspiration for the unique works of art on display and for sale. The artistic media will include paintings, sculptures, photography, ceramics, glass, wood, handmade jewelry, collage and mixed media. In addition, casual shoppers will find a variety of unique handmade gift items and functional art. The 2016 Las Olas Art Fair collectors’ edition poster featuring the work of Pendragon Miranda will be available for purchase at the art show. The painting titled “Welcome to Las Olas” that inspired this year’s poster was selected from dozens of submissions. Miranda, a native of El Salvador, used bold colors and a mix of Naif and Fauvism to bring to life his interpretation of Las Olas Boulevard. Festival patrons will have the opportunity to win a signed framed copy of the poster by registering for the giveaway; no purchase will be necessary to participate. The poster will also be available for purchase onsite at the booth located across from the Cheesecake Factory on S.E. 6th Avenue and will be priced at $10.
