The St. Lucie Cultural Alliance is kicking off its new Musical Series at the 500 Orange Event Center with Marvelous: The Music of Marvin Gaye. The series will be a one-of-a-kind cabaret-club style experience in the gorgeously renovated 500 Orange Event Center. A full liquor cash bar and small plates a la carte from Bonner Mobile Bar, and rotating exhibitions by Cultural Alliance Art Guild Members add to this exquisite experience.

The series kicks off January 13, 2022. The Soul-Tyme Band, made up of nationally acclaimed local musicians from Southern Soul Society, is coming together for Marvelous, a musical journey through the life of Marvin Gaye. Band Members have shared the stage and worked with legends, including Celine Dion, Bo Diddley, Archie Bell, Clarence Carter, NSYNC, Chaka Khan, Hall & Oates, Michael Bolton, Patti Labelle, Earth Wind & Fire, Cy Coleman, among others.

Southern Soul Society is a Cultural Alliance Member and a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and proliferation of Soul Music. The lead vocalist in the Soul-Tyme Band, Will Vaughn founded the organization. "There's nothing like live soul music," says Vaughn. "Music that doesn't just make you tap your toes or hum along but makes you need to get up and dance." Vaughn is excited to spotlight one of the most gifted and groundbreaking singer-songwriters of the soul era, and sing celebrated hits like Let's Get It On, Ain't No Mountain High Enough, Sexual Healing, Heard It Through The Grapevine, What's Going On, and more that defined Gaye's sound.

Working with internationally recognized blues and soul legends like Bo Diddley, Bobby Blue Bland, and Archie Bell, Will is one of the Treasure Coast's most versatile soul singers. He and the seven-piece Soul-Tyme Band are putting in overtime to make this show a musical extravaganza like never seen before in Fort Pierce. The Soul-Tyme Band consists of Les Paultre on Guitar, Gary Palmer on Saxophone, Gary Haase on Bass, John Degory on Organ, Curtis Wright on Drums, and Angie J as a Vocalist. Each is an accomplished musical performer in their own right.

Notably, Haase, a bassist, composer, producer and recording artist, produced on Celine' Dion's Grammy winning Album Falling Into You and has played and written for Chaka Khan, NSYNC, Earth Wind & Fire, Patti LaBelle and Michael Bolton. Palmer is an accomplished solo saxophone player with R & B and Jazz singles, who also launched Jazz and R & B internet radio station WSJR-DB. Paultre played a world tour with Evelyn Champagne King, and became deeply involved with The Sound of Philadelphia, working with Gamble & Huff of Philadelphia International Records.

"St. Lucie County is the Cultural Gem of the Treasure Coast," said Alyona Ushe, St. Lucie Cultural Alliance Executive Director. "This musical series is another way for us to spotlight crazy-talented cultural innovators in our own backyard."
