What does it take to make a story come to life?Aurin Squire is a playwright, reporter, and tv writer from South Florida. He is a New Dramatists resident playwright, as well as a member of the Dramatists Guild of America and the Writers Guild of America. In 2017, he won the Helen Merrill Prize for Emerging Writers and was nominated by the WGA for his TV work. His plays have been produced in New York, London, Los Angeles, and Chicago. His play Fire Season was an Emerald Prize winner and received its world premiere at Seattle Public Theatre in January 2019. In TV, Squire was a staff writer on the CBS political comedy Brain Dead and story editor on the NBC drama This is Us. Currently, he is a co-producer on the CBS legal drama The Good Fight and Evil. To take part, visit the park’s Facebook or Instagram pages at 11 a.m. each weekday (Monday-Friday), and Jungle Island’s Education Manager Emma Guss will post cool photos and a weblink to where kiddos and parents can locate the lesson of the day. Look out for new themes every week, ranging from Everglades Exploration, Spread Your Wings, Primate Practices and more. Guss will lead the virtual learning exercises and has designated Tuesdays and Thursdays as “homework” days. “While schools are closed and kids are bored and stuck at home, they decided to bring some of Jungle Island’s fine-feathered, scaly and cuddly friends directly to the computers of our young fans,” says Guss, who has an environmental science teaching background. “Each assignment is full of surprises and is designed to keep kids’ busy for hours, while they discover fun facts about animals, protected national parks, and the crucial role they can play in conserving wildlife and endangered …
