Ambiance
Imagine a haven where time blends together: an exotic mix of the Old World and the New. Chef de cuisine, Keith Suarino’s, kitchen is Mediterranean-inspired with a dining room that’s Old Florida. The restaurant’s cuisine is a fusion of Mediterranean & Latin inspired dishes, featuring carefully crafted ingredients for discerning foodies. The contemporary menu is designed for sharing with a wide array of cheeses and charcuterie, tapas, fish, responsibly-sourced meats, and sinful desserts. If you’re a wine lover, you’re in for a real treat! Try one of the many wines from around the world, available by the bottle or glass, perfect for the connoisseur or novice alike! Under the canopy of the dramatic 30-foot ceiling, guests can still experience intimate moments, especially if they venture out to the terrace, which provides breathtaking views of Collins Canal. And don’t forget to visit the hotel while you’re there. Not only can you treat yourself to a before or after dinner drink at the Wine Lobby Bar, or the striking Lobbybar Lounge Roofdeck, guests of the hotel can also purchase the exquisite artwork displayed in their rooms.
Things we tried
Artisanal Bread/House-Marinated Olives
Things got off to a great start with this warm, toasted, artisanal bread. Add a little dip into the delicious, marinated olives for a tasty addition to the crusty, freshness.
Tempranillo blend wine, Barco de Piedra, Ribera del Duero, Spain
At our server’s suggestion, we tried owner “Enrique’s Selection,” a bold wine, which proved to be a terrific complement to our entire dining experience!
Baby Beet Salad
Made with pistachio crema & goat cheese mousse, this salad really whet our appetites! The fresh flavorful, beets provide a substantial base for the tantalizing creaminess of the cheese & pistachio crema. You can’t beat this baby!
Madai Snapper Ceviche
We definitely snapped to attention with this lemony delish dish! The sweet drop peppers literally burst with flavor and the complementing blast of garden fresh mint, earn this treat the coveted Two Foodie Snaps Up!
Seared Sea Scallops
Check the dictionary for “perfectly cooked” & you will find these delectable scallops! This flavorful combination of green apple slices, toasted cauliflower, and curry-crusted scallops is a definite “must try.” Every succulent bite just melts in your mouth!
Grilled Octopus
We really scored with this catch, prepared with popcorn, red pepper confit, and Serrano chili vinaigrette.
“From Down Under” Lamb Chops
You’ll be “over the moon” with this “down under” platter, featuring herb farotto, salmoriglio, and capped off with capers and red wine vinegar. It’s tender, juicy, bone-sucking goodness!
Fire-Roasted Brussel Sprouts
Served with honey and pistachios, this sweet treat will surely make a veggie-lover out of you if you aren’t one already.
Charred Cauliflower
We loved this light and crisp delicacy, set off with manchego cheese and a tangy bagna cauda sauce! We couldn’t get enough!
Sea Salt & Chocolate Mousse
We capped off our meal with a fluffy scoop of dense, rich chocolate mousse, drizzled with olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt. This creamy, sweet & savory concoction is sheer bliss.
