Forget Your Troubles, Come on Get Happy Hour!

Happy Hours have been a cultural mainstay, a way to recharge after a long day at the office, unwind with coworkers and friends, and recharge to face the work week. That being said, we decided to do a little investigation and find out just which are the Happiest of Hours South Florida has to offer. So sit back and relax, as we share these tasty morsels to help you decide which is the perfect Happy Hour for you!

Sugarcane Raw

Bar Grill
3252 Northeast First Avenue,
Wynwood | 786.369.0353
Happy Hour 4-7pm Monday-Friday

If lush, roomy and tropical is your thing, you’ll adore Sugarcane! We sure enjoyed the delicious snacks, tapas, raw bar items and sushi rolls for just $3 – $12. Once we added a couple of pitchers of beer and sangria for only $25 each, plus a few signature cocktails for 7 bucks a shot, we were all set. Our favorite cocktail had to be the Strawberry Balsamic with fresh strawberries, aged balsamic, premium vodka, and fresh lime juice. Okay, so we were equally tickled by the Beet Mojito mint, and Rum ‘n’ Bramble Santa Teresa Rum. What can we say except, “Gimme some sugar, baby!”

Why we love this
We adored the indoor/outdoor bar, especially on those days where we can’t make up our minds, which after a few cocktails can be tricky! And the fresh herbs sitting right on the bar almost make you feel like you’re on a health kick, enjoying guilt-free libations. We also fell head over heels over their Guayaba Dream cocktail!

Beaker & Gray

2637 North Miami Avenue, Wynwood
305. 699.2637
Happy Hour Monday through Friday: 5pm-7pm.
Monday through Thursday:

We were in the mood for a place that brings the Hip, yet had affordable pours, where we could unwind after a stressful workday. Beaker & Gray definitely had our backs. It was a real challenge deciding on the drink specials, especially the $5 craft cocktails. In the end, we “sampled” as many as we could, including the Moscow Mule, Tom Collins, Daiquiris, and Margaritas. Of course, we couldn’t pass up on the $5 beers, and the Pacifico, 6 Point Crisp, and Funky Buddha Floridian really whet are whistles. At this point, we completed our drink trifecta by adding in wine to the mix. With glasses only $5, we couldn’t resist the Stellina Pinot Grigio, Schloss Reisling, and Domino Cava. All that drinking definitely gave us the munchies, so we gave in to decadent temptation and discovered some new $5 faves, including Oaxaca, Sandwichitos, and Glass Noodles!

Why we love this
Located in trendy Wynwood, this was the perfect locale to fuel up and explore all that nearby art!

Tamarina Restaurant & Bar

600 Brickell Avenue, Brickell
Happy Hour 5-7:30pm Monday-Friday

Where to get “happy” this time? Decisions, decisions. How about a secluded terrace oasis to enjoy a cocktail or four? And why not complement good drinks with Half price Oysters, $5 Shrimp Cocktail, and $7 Salmon Tartare? We also went full-on “Mama Mia” over the $7 Antipasti, featuring Calamari Fritti, Shoestring Zucchini, Breadsticks, and Bruschetta. Cocktail lovers like us will rejoice with a wide range of wines, beers, spirits and specialty cocktails from just $4 to $7, which will magically transform any day of the week into a “Friday.”

Why we love this
Who needs pearls? Just keep those succulent oysters coming!

Happy Hour 4-7pm

Novecento Aventura

Happy Hour 4-8pm

Novecento Midtown

3201 Buena Vista Blvd
Happy Hour 4-7pm

Novecento Key Biscayne

620 Crandon Blvd
Happy Hour 4-7pm

Novecento takes the old mantra “mi casa es su casa” to a whole other level. The special pricing on the drinks and bar bites menu available at the bar & terrace area, really hit the spot. Wines range from $5 to $7, and we simply adored the Sparkling Toso and Novecento Chardonnay. And don’t get us started on the terrif beer deals! From only $3.50 - $4.50, we enjoyed Coronas, Mahou Boule, Peroni, and Guiness. We definitely got into the “spirit” of things with their $5-$10 Spirit selection, featuring such treats as Bacardi, Absolut, Johnnie Walker Black label, and Jameson Irish Whisky.

Why we love this
We adored the casual, yet elegant European style bistro atmosphere with Latin American influences. And the DJs scored some extra points, too!

Burlock Coast Seafare & Spirits

Ritz Carlton Hotel - 1 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., Fort Lauderdale
Happy Hour 4-7pm Monday- Friday

Splice the mainbrace and batten down the hatches! We went for quite the ride at Burlock! For only $6 a pop, we cruised along to such delish ports as Burlock’s exclusive brew, the BC Bootlager, Grandaddy’s Liquor Cabinet, Chardonnay, Cabernet, and a slew of signature cocktails. And the $6 bites were absolutely awesomesauce, especially the Rock shrimp Fry, Spicy Avocado Tomatillo Dip, and Half Dozen East Coast Oysters! Ahoy matey indeed!

Why we love this
The whole Prohibition era rumrunner vibe, and the buzzing atmosphere really added to the experience. And yes, the live DJ every Thursday really tested out our sea legs!

Juniper On The Water

1975 S Ocean Drive, Hallandale Beach
Happy Hour 4-7pm daily

Nestled along the intracoastal, Juniper offers a seafood driven American-Mediterranean menu, along with a spectacular view that took our breath away. The Happy Hour menu is delish and reasonable, with everything priced in the $4 - $9 range. Some of the selections we savored were the Steamed Middle-neck Clams, the Steamed Mussels (yes, we love mussels, just deal with it ;-), the Chicken Liver Pate, and the Parmesan Cheese Fries, just to name a few. And we absolutely loved their selection of cocktails, including the Sunset Margarita, the Pama Paloma, and restaurant’s namesake, the Juniper! So many choices, so little time!

Why we love this
The water view is a huge plus, as well as the Sunset Menu, which you can enjoy outside. It’s paradise, people!

S3 Sun Surf Sand

505 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale
Happy Hour 4-7pm Monday-Friday

Stepping into S3 was like being whisked away to an island-chic retreat specializing in steak, seafood, and sushi. And the fact that it’s right on the water and features a Happy Hour with $2 off all drinks and 1/2 priced Bar Bites, ranging from $5 - $11, was a real appetizer! Among our bite highlights (or “bitelights,” as we like to call them), were the Wok Charred Edamame, the Mac n’ Cheese, the Tempura Cauliflower, and the Crispy Hominy. All so good! Of course, despite being wonderfully filled, we couldn’t resist the Rosemary Frittes and the Goat Cheese Croquettes. If there was one “S” we’d like to add to Sun, Surf, Sand it’s “Sweet!”

Why we love this
Great food and drink with breathtaking ocean views!

450 Las Olas Boulevard,
Ft. Lauderdale | 954.462.9119
Happy Hour 4-7pm Monday-Friday

Talk about a Happy Hour that flexes its “Mussels!” We simply adore their Black Skillet-Roasted Mussels with extra virgin olive oil and sea salt. Heavenly! This selection is just one of many delightful bite specials in the $6-$8 range, which also includes Calamari Fritto Misto, Fire-Roasted Meatballs, Mozzarella Bocconcini, and more. In addition to these delectable treats, Timpano’s offers specials on cocktails, beer and wine, plus seasonal chef-inspired selections.

Why we love this
In case we didn’t make it clear before, their mussels are to die for!
